.. blogging is the first one to get dumped to the end of my to-do list. So, why I am busy you ask? I am not sure either. There are so many things going on with me right now, that I just do not know where the time goes. How do people manage with 24 hours a day?? I think somebody needs to change it to 48 hours a day. Sigh!
Well, to summarize the past few days……
First, I learnt about IHM’s daughter passing away and I was just shocked. I just did not feel like posting anything for a while. I had so many things that I wanted to write about but then again, how can you write after knowing about such an incident. So, I refrained from writing for a couple of days. Then, when I was ready to write something, I just did not have the time.
I do not have any projects on hand right now and seriously looking for one. Looking for jobs online, sending out resumes and cover letters is not much fun and is taking up most of my precious blogging time 🙁 Two days back, I went to a placement agency where I had to take an assessment test. It went really well and now hopefully they can get me a project soon. I am a little happy about that but, still have my fingers crossed until I get the first project through them.
I have started taking a few classes at the local technical college since yesterday just to improve my skills and increase my area of expertise in web design and development. It will be 3 classes a week, assignments, deadlines and exams until December. These classes are going to be in the evening. So, DH needs to come home early to give dinner to Sarath and tuck him into bed. 🙂 Lots of dad and me time for Sarath in the next few months. But, the downside of all this – I will not be picking up Sarath from the day care in the evenings and I am going to miss that.
Sarath was ill last week with a viral fever. The fever just lasted only a day but he lost his appetite and was very tired. It took almost 10 days for him to get his appetite back. When he doesn’t eat, he cannot sleep properly which obviously leads to tantrums and you can imagine the rest. Now he is totally back to normal.
On the brighter side, he loves to go to day care now and has learnt really good English. He still talks to us in Telugu and keeps translating from one language to another. Yesterday his teacher was telling me that he speaks very good English and has a good command over the language. She also said that his language skills are equivalent to a 4 year old. That kind of made my day. 🙂 🙂 He actually talks very good Telugu as well. I have started teaching him small poems in Telugu and he loves to repeat them and remembers them.
I got my results back from the doctor (read the previous post here) and every thing looks normal. I just have a low HDL (High Density Lipo-proteins) which is the good fat in the body. So, now I have to exercise everyday to help the numbers go up. My triglyceride levels are very high and I have to reduce those by cutting down on processed sugars. Life is getting complicated by the day!
In the midst of all these, there are life’s little pleasures like,
-my dance classes which are going really well and I love the fact that I am actually learning it. 🙂
-I had successfully performed the Vara Lakshmi Puja on Friday and I did not have to buy any flowers – got all the flowers from my garden. I was so excited about it.
-spoke to my best friend for a long time on Friday and it felt so good.
-and the best part of it all is that Sarath is learning spellings now. He can spell his name, mine and DH’s names and many 3 letter words. He loves to spell out with his alphabet magnets. I am really loving this stage. Although, I feel he is growing up too fast, it is really fun and exciting.
I hope I did not bore you with a long post. It is okay even if I did because, it will be a while before I do another post 🙂

Happy that Sarath is back to his good health now. Language skills..Already. Way to go Sarath.. 🙂
Good luck with your job search. Enjoy these days a lot. Once you are at work, you wont be able to catch any good times with Sarath. 🙂
Thank you. I am trying to enjoy the most of it now. I am just getting bored of submitting resumes and nothing happening. But, we are planning a weekend getaway for labor day 🙂 That should give me a break from all this 🙂
Great!.
I was impatient too. But it takes a while before things start kicking in. Keep your hopes and continue ur prep..Thats all one can do 🙂
I know 🙂
Not a long post @ all. I loved reading it actually 🙂
Yay to Sarath. I luv it when kids speak Mother tongue well too 🙂
And getting flowers in one’s own garden is a real pleasure 🙂
Glad you liked reading it.
Me and DH worked hard to teach Sarath Telugu and we hope he will not forget it. In US, it is very difficult to keep our kids talking our mother tongue. I just cannot imagine taking to him in English all the time!
